Alan began his career as a fast-stream civil servant in 1981 before joining KPMG in 1989.  He became a partner in 1998 and Head of Operations for KPMG Consulting in the UK in 2001.  He was closely involved in the sale of KPMG Consulting to Atos Origin in 2002 and was a Managing Director with Atos Origin for 18 months before rejoining KPMG in 2004. He was until recently the chief operating officer for KPMG’s advisory business in the UK , and he now leads KPMG’s European consulting business in the Infrastructure, Government and Health sectors.  He is married with two children.
